Jennifer Lawrence Shut Down the Venice Film Festival Red Carpet in Dior Couture

Jennifer Lawrence made her Venice Film Festival debut in 2008 for the premiere of The Burning Plain, which co-starred Charlize Theron and Kim Basinger, donning a gorgeous sky blue dress and a diamond lariat that turned heads. Almost ten years later, and her entrance for tonight’s Mother! premiere at the festival was no less grand: she opted for Christian Dior, the French house for which she’s been the face since 2012. The resulting princess-style frock was in keeping with the actress’ other major red carpet turns, including her first Oscar victory for which she also wore Dior. The Haute Couture dress featured a black point d’espirt overlay that was an elegant touch to the simple empire-line silhouette.

For a photo call earlier in the day, Lawrence wore a romantic Giambattista Valli tea-length cocktail dress featuring a lace trim in a similar vein and had her hair in loose, casual waves. The streamlined look was a fitting way to warm up to the main event, later in the evening. With her hair swept back and a delicate sprinkling of Tiffany & Co diamonds at her ears and neck, she was more than ready for her big red carpet moment.
